Daily Needs!

Once more, I like to share with you a few of my readings that strengthen me with cheerfulness and courage. It is from a little book titled Daily Strength for Daily Needs by Mary Wilder Tileston (1884-1901)
When He gives quietness, who then can make trouble? Job 34:29
None of these things move me. – Acts 20:24
I have many a cross to take up now,
And many were left behind;
But present troubles move me not,
Nor shake my quiet mind.
And what may tomorrow’s cross
My Father says, “Leave that to me,
And keep a quiet mind.” Anon.
Let us then think only of the present, and not even permit our minds to wander with curiosity into the future. This future is not ours yet; perhaps it never will be. It exposes us to the temptation to wish to anticipate God and to prepare ourselves for things that He may not have destined for us. If such things should come to pass, He will give us light and strength according to the need.
Why should we desire to meet difficulties prematurely? When we do not have either strength or

Light provided for them? Let us pay attention to the present, whose duties are crucial; it is obedience to the present which prepares us for obedience in the future. François de La Mothe Fenelon
