(1 Cor.10:31b) Whether you eat or drink or whatever you do, do all to the glory of God.

NOT MY WAY, re-written by Laurence Wedderburn, July 6, 2019, Oakville, Ontario

(without apology to Frank Sinatra & Paul Anka)

And now, the end is near And so I face the final curtain My friends, I'll say it clear I'll state my case, of which I'm certain I've lived a life that's full I've travelled many and varied byway But more, now more than this I do it His way Mis-steps, I've had a few And then in truth, too much to mention Repent is what I had to do,

Contrition brings no condemnation. I pursued His chartered course:

For God's Word is wisdom's pathway. And more, much more than this I did it His way Yes, there were times, I'm sure you knew I once was lost without a clue But through it all - there was no doubt From death He took and brought me out By His grace I surrendered And did it His way I've loved, I've laughed and cried I've had my fill my share of grieving And now, as tears subside I hear His voice, "I'm never leaving". To think He said all that and "I am the One Way, Resurrection, Truth and Life." I did it His way for what is a man, what has he got Without eternal life he has nought to say the things he humbly feels Praying "Our Father" as he kneels the record shows Jesus took my blows And I chose (not my will but) God's way Yes, it was God's way!
