To bring ... under one head!

That in the dispensation of the fullness of times he might gather together in one all things in Christ, both which are in heaven, and which are on earth; even in him: Ephesians. 1:10

Paul uses a significant term here that is not only used for adding up a column of figures, but also for the process of adding up a column of figures.  A contemporary way of putting it might be to say that in a world of confusion, where things do not “add up” or make sense, we look forward to the time when everything will be brought into meaningful relationship under the Headship of Christ.
