You are a letter read by everyone!

You yourselves are our letter, written on our hearts, known and read by everyone. 3 You show that you are a letter from Christ, the result of our ministry, written not with ink but with the Spirit of the living God, not on tablets of stone but on tablets of human hearts. 2 Cor. 3:2-3 (NIV)

As though the spirit were a substitute for ink! Ink fades and may be easily deleted or blocked out since it is no more than an inanimate fluid. But the Spirit of the Living God is Himself life and, therefore, life-giving, and the life He gives is eternal and without defect, not on a tablet of stone.
